Designer Spotlight : Lucas Lorigeon
We have collaborated with the talented French designer - Lucas Lorigeon. To explore Thai cultural objects through his unique perspective. This partnership has led to the creation of "BIG FOOT," a design concept that introduces a new typology of objects. Drawing inspiration from an everyday Thai item, the design combines elements of a sandal and a step stool, resulting in a bilingual object that bridges culture, functionality, and French expressions.
This innovative piece reflects the blending of Thai traditions with Lorigeon's modern design philosophy, offering a fresh take on cultural fusion in product design.
Inspired by the traditional rubber sandal, known for its durability and cultural symbolism.
Lucas Lorigeon is a passionate designer who dedicates his time to an in-depth exploration of French expressions, language games, and wordplay.
Originally from Paris, he has always been fascinated by the richness and subtlety of the French language, which led him to investigate the connection between language and design. After earning his degree from ENSCI Les Ateliers, Lucas delves into the various aspects of language, from semantics to phonetics, encompassing culture and history. Each creation stems from a profound reflection on the meaning and origin of expressions.
Lucas imbues objects with an almost magical dimension. To him, they possess superpowers, serving as narrative supports that give rise to endless layers of meaning and interpretation. He views objects as gateways to the imagination, capable of eliciting wonder and sparking imagination in those who engage with them.
Recently, Lucas has expanded his scope by dedicating some of his time to pedagogy. This decision underscores his fervent desire to play a significant role in the profession’s development and the training of tomorrow’s designers. For him, design is more than just an aesthetic discipline; it is an essential narrative tool and a field that requires storytelling to evolve.
